In the first MotoGP Free Practice session in Qatar, Valentino Rossi unveiled a new helmet design that we guess will become his default helmet of choice for the 2011 MotoGP season – replacing the 5 Continents design that Rossi has worn for his last few years at Yamaha.
The new design is much nicer than the black and yellow ‘sun and moon’ design that he wore for pre-season testing.
The new helmet design sticks (as usual) with the Sun and Moon motif, with the sun at the front of the helmet (much like the 5 Continents design) and the moon at the rear. In tribute to his all-Italian team (now that he is with Ducati) – the moon features the red, white, and green of the Italian flag. Check out the images below (uploaded originally via Alex Briggs).
It is a good bet that this Valentino Rossi helmet will be released for sale as a replica. We’ll keep our eyes peeled for definate updates.
