The AGV Corsa is AGV’s ‘next-to-best’ motorcycle helmet and sits just behind the Pista GP in the AGV range. The Corsa maintains many of the race-inspired featres of the Pista GP but adds more flexibility to create a more forgiving helmet that is equally at home on the street or the track.
AGV have released a very limited edition replica helmet of Valentino Rossi’s ‘Shark’ helmet, also known as ‘Watch out for Sharks‘ in their excellent, but expensive, AGV Corsa range.
This helmet design was worn by Valentino Rossi for the Misano MotoGP round in 2015. Created by Aldo Drudi, the helmet featured a small yellow fish, wearing the number ’46’, being hunted down by a large grinning shark. The sides of the helmet feature the phrase ‘Via Via Via!‘, which basically mean ‘Go Go Go!‘ in Italian. The rear of the helmet features Rossi’s bulldogs kitted out in diving masks and snorkels, with a large yellow ’46’ behind them.
Rossi stated publically that the design was created to signify how he felt at Misano, which is basically his home race, and that he feels like he has a target on his back and every that rider on the track wants to beat him. He went on to claim that undersea theme also paid homage to the Adriatic coast which is only a few miles from the Misano race-track.
In reality, many people thought the design had a much more specific message – prior to the Misano round, Valentino Rossi had been comfortably leading the MotoGP championship, but a resurgent Jorge Lorenzo had been taking huge chunks out of Rossi’s points advantage over the preceding races – and many people thought the design signified Lorenzo’s relentless pursuit of Rossi (with Rossi being portrayed as the fish and Lorenzo as the shark).
Lorenzo loved the fact that many people assumed he was the Shark, and in the following race at Aragon he made a shark-fin gesture after winning the race just to wind Rossi up a bit more. In 2016 Jorge Lorenzo continued having little digs at Valentino Rossi with the shark theme when he wore a helmet at the 2016 Aragon MotoGP race which was made to look like a Great White Shark.
Anyway, the design was hugely popular and AGV subsequently released it in their AGV Corsa range. Be aware that this helmet sold very quickly from the day it was released and you are going to find it difficult to track one down now, but we have put a few links at the bottom of the page where stock does still show up sometimes.
Description: AGV Corsa
The all new AGV Corsa Helmet is constructed from SSL (Super-Super-Light) Carbon-Kevlar and is based on same helmet worn by the top class Moto GP rider Valentino Rossi (Pista GP). With an all new shell shape and aerodynamically tested venting system hollowed directly in the shell, the AGV Corsa helmet longs to be at the track. The AGV Corsa has a Cool Max removable and washable interior with hygienic treatment. It has a Double D retention system and a clear, flat, anti-scratch, Pinlock ready polycarbonate race 2 visor with XQRS (Extra Quick Release System) and tear-off system.

The AGV Corsa Helmet has been awarded a Five Star SHARP certification.
