Ryuichi Kiyonari is a big name (and talent) in the British Superbike series – Kiyonari is the 2006, 2007 and 2010 British Superbike champion.
Kiyonari has also spent time in MotoGP and in World Superbikes – in 2003 he replaced the late Daijiro Kato in MotoGP for one season, and in 2008 he also moved from British Superbikes to race in the World Superbike series. He returned once again to BSB in 2010.
Kiyonari has also won the 2008 Suzuka 8-Hour race, teamed with his former WSBK team-mate Carlos Checa. He has a reputation for being at his best when leading races from the front.
Most recently Kiyonari has been racing for Honda in the MFJ All-Japan Road Race JSB1000 Championship, but he still remains a firm fan-favorite amongst Britsh Superbike fans in the UK.
Ryuichi Kiyonari races with Shoei helmets, and his designs are usually striking, aggressive, and feature a dragon motif.
Shoei released these aggressive designs in their X Spirit range and they were very popular with street riders due to the aggressive but subtle and artistic designs.
Here are a few of Kiyonari’s recent helmet designs:
There are no new Kiyonari helmets available from Shoei at the moment, but you can pick some of the older Kiyonari helmets on eBay.com.
