Andrea Iannone

Andrea Iannone is a flamboyant and aggressive Italian motorcycle racer who first grabbed attention with his ‘win it or bin it‘ racing style in Moto2, before moving up to MotoGP where he has raced for both the satellite and factory Ducati teams. Iannone signed a contract to race for the factory Suzuki team from 2017.

Andrea Iannone helmet guide:

Andrea Iannone has raced with sponsorship from various helmet brands and during his career so far he has raced with Airoh helmets, KYT helmets, and he currently races with AGV helmets, which is where you will find the latest models.

Andrea Iannone helmet designs:
Andrea Iannone has a good sense of the ‘showman’ about him, and that trait shines through in many of his helmet designs, and Iannone often has custom designs made that have included an Incredible Hulk helmet design, a Fire Engine design, as well as a tribute to the seagull that he collided with at Phillip Island in 2015.

Iannone also has recurring themes that feature on many of his helmets and most will have his race number ’29 featured on them, as well as his ‘target’ motif, and many also feature an image of a molecule of adrenaline integrated into the graphics, which is a great design touch.

Helmet models and pricing:
With the move to AGV Iannone has been racing with the latest AGV GP Pista model, so expect more Iannone replicas to appear in that range. AGV also sporadically release Andrea Iannone replicas in their best-selling entry to mid-range AGV K3 SV ranges, which are great helmets at a reasonable price.

If you are trying to get hold of an Iannone replica at a more affordable price then be sure to check out the KYT helmets as they have two Iannone replicas on the market for under £150/$200. They may not have have all the features of a top range AGV helmet, but they have great graphics and are perfectly good helmets for everyday road use.

Andrea Iannone biography:
Andrea Iannone was born in 1989 in the Italian town called Vasto, which is on the Adriatic coast, an area that is rich with a passion for motorcycle racing, so Iannone’s interest in racing came at an early age. Like many young aspiring racers in the region he started off racing pocket bikes and Minimoto and made a name for himself as a talented prospect.

After a spell in both the Spanish and Italian championships Iannone made his debut on the World Championship stage in 2005 racing in the 125cc class for the Abruzzo Racing Team. He stayed in the 125cc class until 2009 recording a best Championship finish of 7th.

In 2010 Iannone moved up to the Moto2 class, and it was here where he started to make more of a name for himself and he became a regular front-runner who thrilled fans by showing he was just as comfortable winning a race from 10th on the grid, as much as he was starting from pole. His ‘win it or bin’ style of racing won him many fans, and more than a few rivals on track. Iannone spent three seasons in Moto2 and finished in 3rd place in the Moto2 Championship in every season.

In 2013 Iannone moved up to MotoGP to race for the Energy T.I. Pramac Racing team, and solid performances in the Pramac team saw Iannone get the opportunity to move up to the factory Ducati MotoGP team in 2015. In 2016 at the Austrian MotoGP Iannone claimed Ducati’s first MotoGP victory since 2010 (when Casey Stoner last won for the team).

Iannone signed a contract with Suzuki for 2017 to become a factory Suzuki GSX-RR rider alongside Alex Rins.
