Andrea Iannone is no stranger to dropping a new special helmet design to pay tribute to a race or a significant event (our favorite was probably the tribute to the Seagull he killed in Australia).
Iannone will usually have a special design for the Mugello Italian MotoGP and he has also adpoted one-off graphics to celebrate the US rounds in MotoGP.
In 2013 when he was racing for the Pramac Ducati team, Iannone and AGV ran a competition for fans to come up with a design for the Indianapolis MotoGP. The winner would see their design get created on Iannone’s Pista GP helmet and used in the race.
The winning design was a beautiful looking ‘Stars and Stripes’ design, which featured the stars at the front of the helmet, with the red and white stripes running across the rear. The top of the lid had a huge silver star, and the chin and sides featured Iannone’s race number.
